About ADHET
ADHET It is a grouping of Human Rights associations and individuals, human rights defenders and friends of nature; having made the defense and protection of the
Environment a priority in the same way as the defense of Human Rights. The association has several active and sympathetic members composed of young girls and boys and resource persons. ADHET has set itself the main goal of serving the cause of Human Rights and the environment and serving as a relay for awareness-raising, awareness-raising, mobilization and training of citizens in behavioral changes for respect for environmental protection. And to fight against abuses of the law and cases of violations while working for a true culture of peace, for the protection of the environment and the fight against desertification throughout the national territory. This is why ADHET has a focal point in 55% of the national territory
Their Challenges
Chad, like other countries, is facing the harmful effects caused by climate change.
Given its geographical position, the country is confronted by:
- A rapid advance of the desert
- The destruction of forests and fauna
- Lack of information, awareness, training, and education in environmental issues
- Use of harmful unapproved pesticides or herbicides
ADHET is committed to addressing these challenges to help mitigate the environmental pressures facing Chad.
Their Approach
ADHET has the techniques and approaches needed to reverse the already degraded environmental situation in Chad by changing behaviors, mindsets, and raising awareness within communities through the following actions:
- Conducting extensive training and education campaigns with visual and didactic supports on the need to protect the environment.
- Raising awareness of environmental laws
- Undertaking reforestation actions at targeted sites and managing tree nurseries, with young plants sold to the population at subsidized prices
